This directory of information resources pulls together over 300 of the most practical and useful books, reports, videos, CD-ROMs and websites on disability. It is aimed at organisations working with disabled people in developing countries. Organised thematically, It covers a wide range of issues including human rights, gender, poverty and mainstreaming, as well as planning and management of disability programmes and service delivery relating to children, community-based rehabilitation, mental health and HIV and AIDS. The directory provides a quick reference listing of information resources with clear abstracts and details of distributors and websites, while the CD-ROM contains many published and un-published full-text documents, as well as links to websites for those who can access the Internet. The index of publishers and distributors will be especially useful to resource centres and information services which collect and manage information on disability and development

This Key list highlights essential information resources on access to health information. Resources have been selected and reviewed by experts in the field. Any study of access in ICT and health should include a background analysis on digital divide issues generally; then a specific focus on access to health information delivered via ICT -- for health practitioners, researchers and for the public. ICTs present a significant tool for sharing information within various constituencies in the health sector. They also present the opportunity for health professionals in developing countries to access a wide range of medical journals online. Provides details of over 20,000 materials on international health and disability issues, including books, manuals, reports, posters, videos and CD-ROMs. Many of the materials are unpublished literature produced in developing countries, and much is not recorded in other databases. Details of resources include subjects, keywords, price, publisher and distributor. This database references the Source collection which has been developed from the merger of the resource centres of Healthlink Worldwide and the Centre for International Child Health, and in partnership with Handicap International, UK and Exchange, to produce Source, an international information support centre, which aims to support health and disability activities worldwide
