SANCA strives to address alcohol and other drug problems in South Africa through the provision of specialised, accessible and affordable prevention and treatment services to all South Africans, thereby enhancing the quality of life and restoring the self-respect and dignity of people affected by chemical substance abuse. The resource centre serves SANCA Alcohol and Drug Centres, the Institute for Heatlh Training and Development, Associate members of SANCA, tertiary institutions, professional social workers in training, private practitioners and the public of southern Africa. It operates on a fee-based system

To develop health trainers who can effectively teach, conduct operational research, develop relevant and usable health learning materials and manage health training institutions. Aims to give respect to the learning impaired, to care, train and educate them, and to rehabilitate them in their homes and in society

SeSoBEL's objectives are to assist the disabled child to live a life filled with joy and hope despite its disability and associated difficulties; to support and accompany the family in coping with their child's disability so that the disabled child is able to remain with family; and to collaborate with society and help it to recognise the disabled child's value and right to a dignified life regardless of their disability and its effects. The resource centre is not open to the public

Christian Aid is an agency of the churches in the UK and Ireland. It works wherever the need is the greatest, irrespective of religion. It supports local organisations to undestand local needs. It strives for a new world, transformed by an end to poverty, and campaigns to change the rules that keep people poor
The Christian Aid resources centre has a collection of more than 5,000 books and 90 journals, specialising in economic and social development. The subject areas covered include HIV/AIDS, agriculture, environment, poverty reduction, gender, conflict, emergencies, Planning Monitoring and Evaluation (PME), capacity building, trade issues and land reform. There is a fully searchable database of 17,000 records, including books, documents, journals, videos, articles, websites and archive materials (not available through the website). The services are targeted at Christian Aid staff, but visitors with an appointment are welcome. The library is open Monday - Friday, 10am - midday, and 2 pm - 4pm
