Human Rights Watch is an international NGO dedicated to protecting the human rights of people around the world. Since its formation in 1978, it focused mainly on upholding civil and political rights. More recently it has begun to include social, cultural and economic rights. They do this by researching human rights abuses in all regions of the world, and then publishing the findings as widely as possible in the media. They also follow women's and children's rights.
